Gama XV: Piece for Two Speaker Dresses (2016)

The Speaker Dress (SD) is a wearable sound sculpture with a self-contained amplification system. SD1 was first created in 2014, and in 2016, Sasaki built SD2 inspired by flautist Claire Chase (shown in this video). This project combines disciplines such as technology and coding, sound art, music, fashion, dance, and visual arts (video, light design, sculpture). During her fellowship at the Institute, Pauchi plans to deepen the conceptual foundation of the project, and create a functional notation for SD3 that integrates musical and movement notation with technical cues, using space - and not time - as the unit of the score.
